  Portes du Soleil

Les Portes du Soleil is a large region of the Alps encompassing thirteen resorts between Mont Blanc in France and Lake Geneva in Switzerland, popular for skiing, snowboarding and other winter sports and in summer Mountain Biking.

The Portes du Soleil area includes:

Les Gets

Les Gets is situated on a plateau between Samoëns and Morzine, at the western edge of the Portes du Soleil.

In summer Les Gets hosts many downhill mountain biking events. There are two distinct downhill mountain bike areas, one on each side of the village. The downhill mountain bike run on Mt Chéry has been used in the Mountain Bike World Cups and in the Mountain Bike World Championships in 2004.

Châtel

Châtel is a village and commune in the Haute-Savoie and Rhône-Alpes region of France. Situated in the Northern French Alps on the French/Swiss border, it is a popular ski resort.

In summer, Châtel transforms itself and visitors can enjoy numerous activities such as windsurfing & sailing (on nearby Lake Geneva), white-water rafting, kayaking, paragliding, walking, mountain biking or simply relaxing in the sun.

Champéry

Champéry is in the district of Monthey in the canton of Valais in Switzerland.

In summer, several mechanical lifts stay open to service hikers and mountain bikers, and many trails are still maintained.
